After landing in Portland on July 5, we immediately drove east along the Columbia River on I-84. We stopped at Bridal Veil and Latourell Falls, we tried to drive down the scenic byway instead, since it was a very pretty road. Unfortunately, everyone else in the state had the same idea since it was the Friday after 4th of July, and we quickly ended up stuck in traffic. We finally manged to turn around near Wahkeena Falls and just back tracked to the interstate instead.
